  4. Dear Mrs. Wiber, Janet, Greg and Mark,
It was with sadness that I learned of the passing of your husband and father in today’s Edmonton Journal. Please accept my sincerest condolences. When my father died in 2012 I was comforted by the words of an Amercian poet, who wrote “To live in hearts we leave behind- is not to die.” May he live in your hearts forever and may his memory be eternal.
He has remained in my memory because it was in your home on July 20, 1969 that I saw Neil Armstrong’s first steps on the moon, and often when I look up at the moon, I remember that day and see him sitting on the couch watching. We all have such memories of monumental events that took place in our lives and this is one of mine.
He served his country in a time of war and later his community as an avid supporter of minor sports. His was a life well-lived and he leaves behind a legacy worthy of emulation for his family. May his memory be eternal and may he rest in peace in God’s embrace.
    Ihor Broda, Edmonton
