WHITE, Kenneth Wayne

January 18, 1955 – Camrose, AB
June 30, 2014 – Airdrie, AB

Kenneth (Ken) Wayne White of Airdrie, AB passed from this life on Monday, June 30, 2014 at the age of 59 years.

Ken was born to Dale and Donna McKee on January 18, 1955 in Camrose, AB. Following Dale’s passing, Ken’s mom Donna later married Leslie White, who adopted Ken as his know son. Ken valued all family his parents, his siblings, his extended family, and in a larger than life way, his two sons Stuart and Colin!

Family and friends can easily reflect upon interests and adventures of Ken his vehicles that made him burst with pride, camping trips and campfires, mastering the game of Roulette, researching but never quite mastering all his electronics, collecting and more collecting – golf balls, chips, and animated eggs, renovating a suite for and caring for his mom, and hosting many a family dinners during the holidays. A number of Ken’s work years were spent working at Alberta Pallet Co. and at Canada Post. When at work or at home Ken was an active leader supporting others to connect and focus on matters of importance, whether advocating for fellow employees in a union role or planning family reunions.

Left to cherish Ken’s memory is his sons Stuart and Colin Christie-White (Carly); his sister Patricia (Faye) and brothers Norman (Linda), Robert, William (Shelagh); as well as, many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Ken was predeceased by his parents Donna and Les White, his father Dale McKee; his brother Douglas and his sister Marilyn.

Graveside Service will be held at Wetaskiwin Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 11:00am. Following the graveside service a gathering will take place at the Wetaskiwin Legion. Condolences may be forwarded through

  4. Kevin Schilling :

The life of Ken White was filled with many highs, and some lows, as those who knew him well can attest. In over 30 years we spent together as friends and partners in various ventures, my life has grown through his sharing. Taken suddenly, and much too young, we can only be thankful for the time we had. You will be sorely missed and always remembered. Rest in peace my dear friend.

  5. Jordan Schilling :

Ken was always kind to me, a great friend to my father, and a loving, proud father to his sons. The last time I saw him, he was preparing to spend the summer relaxing and recovering following a major surgery he had scheduled, and it came as a great shock to hear that he had suddenly passed away. My heartfelt condolences to Ken and his family; he will be sorely missed by all those who were close to him.

  6. My heart felt condolences to Ken’s family and all who knew and loved him, he left this world way too soon. He had the deepest respect for his many co-workers at Canada Post who benefited from his knowledge and dedication. I will remember his smile, sense of humor and a hilarious dance off at a pub in Red Deer many year ago. May the kindness you showed in this life pave your way into the next.
