WHITE – Alexis Claire Snow
(Kaamotaki – Rescue Woman)
August 29, 1994 – September 30, 2010
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved and beautiful baby girl Alexis Claire Snow White into the Kingdom of Heaven on Thursday, September 30, 2010.
Alexis was born on August 29, 1994 in Strathmore, AB and lived in Calgary most of her life. She had many interests and hobbies which included: golf, basketball, soccer, and working out with her brother. She also loved to participate as a fancy and jingle dress dancer and was so proud in making her regalia in time for our Siksika powwow. She also had a passion for art as she loved to draw, sew, barbequing her famous steaks, and making fry-bread for her family.
Alexis had many relatives and friends from the Treaty 7 and other First Nation communities. As a child, she was very independent, nurturing and protective of her family and friends and known for her kindness, generosity, sense of humour, and strong will. Alexis was a child of God and accepted the Lord as her personal saviour through her Nama. She was actively involved in her traditional ways through her late grandparents.
She leaves behind her parents Tyler and Krista White and her brother Drew; her Nama Freda White; uncles, Ian White, James Many Bears (Crystal), Morris Many Bears (Charlene); aunts, Georgette Medicine Shield (Eldrid), Francine Medicine Shield (Jack), Alanna Many Bears; great-grandmother Mary White; numerous great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, friends, and extended family members. Alexis was predeceased by her great great-grandparents Dominic and Clara Yellow Old Woman; great-grandfather Andrew White; great-grandparents, Fred Weasel Fat, Harold and Verden Chief Moon, Jim and Alice Many Bears, Frank and Mary Medicine Shield; grandfather Melvin White; grandparents Aloysius and Frances Many Bears; aunt Andrea White-Weasel Fat; her special cousin Brandon Medicine Shield, and additional extended family members. The family apologizes if we have missed anyone!
