Dear Graham, Denise & Diane & family,
It has been a long time from those days when we all lived in Don Mills. Your mom kept an eye on the comings and goings of friends; I recall her often popping upstairs from her clay or kiln to find out who and what was afoot. Always curious what we planned to do with our time and our lives. We grew up, drifting far from home and setting down roots and raising our families. Time has indeed sped by.
    Her presence will be missed.

  19. Since last Thursday may 30th, 2013 I heard the news of Emmy ‘s passing, I have not been able to accept not having Emmy in my life anymore. I could not even try to understand the magnitude of your sorrow as Emmy’s children, grandchildren, sisters, nieces , nephews, and other relatives. However I can tell you how I feel about losing her so suddenly and what she meant to me.
I have known Emmy over 10 years as my next door neighbour , we have had many memorable moments together, celebrating her birthday with Gina’s birthday, going out for meals to watching Dancing with the Stars, Bachelor, Bachelorette and the World News the list goes on.
I always had a great time whenever I did anything with Emmy she had the attitude of a 20 year old who embraced life with a very positive outlook. Emmy use to have champagne breakfasts starting at 7:30 a. m on some Fridays, even though I did not drink I was always in awe when it came to the menu and the servings of wonderful, unique yummy food ideas, it was worth waiting for until Friday . What a way to start a day it was. I will never forget Emmy’s signature Champagne Breakfasts, which made me feel so alive and appreciated.
I loved it when Emmy helped me with my school concerts, with my Year End Family Picnics and when she supported me by joining me and my preschool children competing in the Kiwanis Festival. After the festival we would go to the East Indian Restaurant enjoy a meal with lots of laughter. Having her by my side for the special days of my carrier made her more than a neighbour and a friend, she was also my aspiration.
I loved going to shopping with Emmy and going out to eat, she had an incredible good taste and she always knew all the good places to eat. I loved listening to stories of her life with her beloved husband Peter. Emmy had a such an enriched life I could listen to her for hours without moving, always loved the way Emmy related her life experiences to the questions or advice I asked of her. Her words made so much sense that I took all of her advice to my heart.
When I broke up with my ex-boy friend, I don’t know how I could of survived without Emmy, her wisdom, and her truly caring nature helped me get through the pain and suffering I was experiencing at the time. Emmy always knew how to make me feel good about myself, she was very generous with her compliments. Whenever I bought new outfits for myself I use to give Emmy a fashion show, I loved Emmy’s intelligent comments and her positive outlook, Emmy always busted my self confidence, whenever I needed. Having a cup of tea with Emmy always using my special china tea cup meant not just having a great time with my neighbour, my friend, and a one gifted classy mentor, it also was a learning experience, Emmy taught me a lot about life and it’s twist and turns in a most fun and an amazing way.
I loved it when Emmy turned my Chinese Lanterns, orange flowers from my rental house to work of art,
I loved it when Emmy turned my Chinese Lanterns, orange flowers from my rental house to work of art, by painting them to a canvas with her unquestionable talent. I loved it when she called me Mrs. Nath instead of Huban. She made me feel respected. I loved it when she got me Yule Log every Christmas for centerpiece for my Christmas table and chocolate cup cakes for my birthdays. I loved it in the summer days when we talked over our fence and shared a joke or two. I just loved her to bits!
I am very greatfull to Emmy for everything she was to me, all the life lessons learned, I am truly a fortunate soul to have had her in my life. Emmy was to me a class act beautiful lady , an accomplished painter and an art teacher , sharp dresser, gifted mentor , compassionate listener, caring friend, and a loving neighbour with a generous heart. Emmy had a great taste for classical music and anything with class, she lived the life to fullest with no age barriers and experiencing all the colors of the rainbow with refreshing positivity.
I know in my heart Emmy is in a place now where she is very happy. Probably she already has started the party on the other side, singing dancing enjoying her time with no pain and without the inconveniences of an old age. I will continue to love her as always and I will miss her very much, I refuse to say goodbye to Emmy , so long Emmy until we meet again in the mean time You Go Girl The Universe is Yours to Enjoy! Have a Ball!
Your friend, neighbour and an admirer!
    Thanks for the wonderful memories.
Huban Nath ( Mrs. Nath )

Dear Graham, Pat, Ryan, Andrew, Jonathan and Family,

My sincere sympathy is with you as you go through the process of living life without your Mother, Grandmother, Mother-in-law.

Emmy certainly had a zest for life, a twinkle in her eye and was amazingly perceptive (must have been the ‘artist’ in her. The last time I saw her, Mother’s Day, Emmy was beautifully dressed in a brightly coloured co-ordinated outfit with a smile on her lips and a hug for an old family friend. Her cut-to-the-chase comments and sweet compliments are what I will cherish.

    Luann
