Larry Weselak of Calgary, passed away after a lengthy illness, surrounded by his family on Monday, September 8, 2014 at the age of 70 years.
Larry was born in Esterhazy, SK, and was raised on a farm near Gerald, SK. He was the oldest of four children. Larry graduated Teacher’s College and University, and became a teacher. He moved to Calgary, AB in 1967 where he taught until 1989. He then changed careers and became a Calgary Transit operator until his retirement in 2008, and thoroughly enjoyed driving C-Trains. He was hard-working and known for his dedication. His interests included camping, history, politics, finance, and family genealogy, which he spent many hours researching.
Larry is survived by his wife Marj; son Tim; two brothers Lloyd (Debra) and Lorne (Janet); sister Lorna (Brent) Hanson; niece Tami (Chad) Skappak; and nephews, Terry (Kim), Scott and Michael Weselak, and Joel and Troy Hanson, and great-nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, James (Jim) and Agnes.

Hi Marj: Many years have passed since we worked at CWNG. You were always a kind and gentle person. I remember when you got married (I was in the hospital giving birth to my daughter). When I read Larry’s obituary I felt compelled to extend my sympathy to you.
