WEITZ, Larry Richard “Rick”

January 1, 1947 – September 4, 2011

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, and friend, Rick Weitz, on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at the age of 64 years.

Rick leaves behind his life-long love of forty-four years, his wife Colleen; three daughters, Candace (Loi), Michelle and Angela (Doug); grandchildren, Shaddy, Jordan, Kyle, Tyler, Amber, Hanna, Carson, Madison, Xander and Kadence; sister Phyllis (Tony); brother Gary (Judy); sister-in-law Barbara McFadyen; as well as his special uncle Roy Weitz. He will always be remembered by his nieces, Virginia (Darrol), Rosalie (Michel), Shelley (Lloyd), Tracey (Ted), Kara (Ben) and Toni-Lynn (Mark). He was predeceased by his parents Lydia and Albert Weitz. Rick was the proud founder of The Recharge Centre and leaves behind staff past and present that he always cherished as friends.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.     Pam and I are so sorry to hear about Rick. The Recharge Centre and Rick are a big part of our lives, with all good memories. I remember the first day I met Rick when we were working on the Shell SCBA business. He was very helpful to us and instrumental in the the success that Draeger had at Shell and eslewhere in Western Canada over the past 20 plus years. He will be missed by many.
