WEISGERBER, Chad Joseph

February 8, 1974 – May 29, 2012

Chad Weisgerber, beloved husband of Tania and adored father of Annika and Claire, passed away on May 29, 2012 at the age of 38 years. Chad left this world after a courageous battle with neurosarcoidosis.

Along with his three girls, Chad will be greatly missed by his parents, John and Cheryl Weisgerber, his brother Todd Weisgerber (Jamie) and sister Tanya Saban (Sam) as well as extended family and many friends. His love for learning led him to achieve a Bachelor of Science and Education at the University of Calgary. He started his career with the Calgary Catholic School District and shared his knowledge and passion as a teacher. He then worked alongside his father as an independent construction contractor gaining valuable insight into the industry. Following up on this experience he earned his Professional Project Management certificate and worked as a project manager for EllisDon Construction. He shared a love of the outdoors, especially golfing and spending time in the mountains and at the family lake house.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church (2223 – 34 Street S.W.) on Monday June 4, 2012 at 1:00 pm. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to Calgary Health Trust – Intensive Care, Suite 800, 11012 MacLeod Trail S.E., Calgary, AB T2J 6A5, Telephone: (403)943-0615, www.thetrust.ca.

In living memory of Chad Weisgerber, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park.

Condolence Messages

  1. Growing up with his sister, Tanya, I was so lucky to have the Weisgerber family as my second family. They always made me feel comfortable and Chad was no exception, teasing me as if I was a blood relation yet always there if you needed something. Chad was an amazing husband, father and person. He is going to be greatly missed. My thoughts, prayers and love go out to his family, especially his two daughters. They were always the sparkle in his eye.

It is with great sorrow we send to you our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. No heart could prepare for such a loss. I remember all the fun times at Auntie Rose and Uncle Adolph’s playing with Chad, Todd, Tanya, Shannon and Sean eating delicious jam jams with a glass of milk. Somewhere in Heaven is an angel you know and Chad has found his peace. We love you and will keep Chad’s memory close in our hearts.

  18. Richard and Lori Reardon and sons, Nolan and Evan :

Dear Weisgerber family. . . someone once said-“When you look at a tombstone, you see a name, something nice about the person, the year they were born and the year they died…and a small dash in between. The dash…it’s what we do between the time we’re born and the time we die…that’s what’s most important. It’s critical because the dash is your identity…it’s who you are—husband, dad, teacher, etc. The dash is your influence…it’s how you touch the lives of others. The dash is your legacy…it’s what you’ll leave behind to future generations.” Lori and I feel so blessed to have been a small part of Chad’s most excellent dash–he has definitely left a legacy!

Mr. Weisgerber taught me science in Junior high school at Cardinal Newman. He must have only been 26 at the time, but conducted a class as if he had been teaching for years. He was a great teacher and also had a good sense of humor especially considering he was teaching junior high students!

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Weisgerber family.
