  2. Mary (Walls) Culham :

I came to know Joan when my father,
Jack Walls became a resident at the old Col. Belcher, and then at the new. I enjoyed many conversations with her on different topics, her dear little bird which she so enjoyed among them. She enjoyed every day with the same fervor that she rode her hallmark mobile cart(?) around. Dad passed at 87 too, in 2005, and I only saw Joan twice since, but have thought of her often. She and those men and women of the armed forces of that generation were forged into really special people with their shared experience; so it is especially difficult to lose them, as it can sometimes feel like they just don’t make them that way any more. I send my appreciative thoughts of Joan to her remaining family, and honor her good, long life.

  3. Gizelle Davis :

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know how hard it was to lose Daddy, but I take solace in knowing that he is in a better place. My fondest memories of Auntie Joan were sitting on the front porch at the house in Olds drinking tea and of course, listening to her play the piano. I do regret not being able to spend more time with all of you, but you are not forgotten. Love to all. Gizelle
