Joyce Wardlaw of Calgary passed away on Thursday September 18, 2014 at the age of 91 years.
Joyce was born in Edmonton, England, the youngest daughter of Louisa and William Pateman. She was a member of the WRENS during WWII. It was during the war that she met Sam. They married after the war and Joyce immigrated to Montreal in 1946. Joyce and Sam later moved their family to Rougemont south of Montreal.
Joyce is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David and Sue Wardlaw; daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Wilfred Thiele; daughter-in-law Elaine Wardlaw; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt), Amy (Lou), Lindsay (Isaac) and Christopher (Jacqueline); four great-granddaughters, Meghan, Olivia, Caitlin and Emma; as well as relatives in England and extended family and friends in Rougemont, QC. She was predeceased by her husband Sam and her son John.
A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held in Rougemont at a later date.
