Bill of Calgary passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 3, 2006 at the age of 76 years.
Bill was born in the Edmonton, AB then moved to the Grande Prairie area during the depression living in the Dimsdale area then back to the Grande Prairie area. It was there that he met the love of his life Theresa Murray. Bill and Theresa along with their nine children lived in the Grande Prairie area until 1969 when they moved to Edmonton to join the Alberta Housing Corporation. They later moved to Calgary where he worked until he retired in 1985. Besides his family Bill’s other loves were woodworking, boxing and hockey.
Bill is survived by his wife of fifty-six years Theresa; his children and their spouses, Maureen Walters-Gonek (Jim) of Edmonton, Murray (Pat), Karen Walsh (Joe) of Vancouver, Calvin, Jim (Lynn), Greg (Susan), Allen of Langdon, AB, Grant (Darleen) and Terryann Greenwell; twenty-seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; brother Alf of Creston, BC; sister Gwen Alstead of Wembley, AB; as well as many other relatives.
