VORONEY, David John

February 2, 1954 – Brooks, AB
November 22, 2013 – Calgary, AB

David John Voroney beloved spouse of Cynthia of Calgary, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 at the age of 59 years.

David was born on February 2, 1954 in Brooks, AB, but grew up on the family farm in Tilley, AB. He completed his power engineering diploma at SAIT in Calgary in 1974 and went to work at the Balzac gas plant and became lead shift foreman. He obtained his first class steam ticket in 1983, and in 1985, David participated in the design and completion of the Mazeppa Gas Plant. We all know how proud Dave was of the Mazeppa facility and his unwavering dedication to the management of it. In 2003, his career carried him into the position of plant manager. In his spare time, David loved spending time in wide open spaces and being outdoors with his boys, family and friends, whether it was fishing in the ocean, skiing, biking, gardening or camping. Even simply having a beer, was something he thoroughly enjoyed.

Besides his loving partner Cynthia, David is survived by his wonderful sons Shaun and Justin; mother Monica; brother Don (Robbyn); sisters Tricia (John) and Sharon Ann; grandmother Tilley Schlossberger; uncle Henry and aunt Benny; many nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other uncles, aunts and cousins. He was predeceased by his father John; uncle Fred; and grandfather Walter Schlossberger.

Sweetie, together we’ve shared so much laughter, happiness, and joy that I can’t imagine a world without you or a life without your love. I love you – truly and completely.

Dad, we wouldn’t be where we are today without the loving support and excellent guidance that you constantly provide us with.

We love you and you will live in our hearts forever.
