There, she had a long career at Calgary General and then Peter Lougheed Hospital. She met her soul mate Lou Violini later in life. They met at church and were married April 17, 1971. The two of them loved dancing, playing cards, and going to the horse track, among many other shared passions. Lou pre-deceased her in 2008. After retiring, Maureen found more time to pursue her love of knitting, sewing and other crafts. She was an active member of CWL, sat on her Parish Council, and did Pastoral Care for many years. Maureen was proud of her Irish heritage and often spoke of her trip to Ireland with her family.
She will be sorely missed by her stepchildren Rob Faschel and Pat (Paul) Brown; grandchildren Nicole (Chris) East, Telesa Brown, Tara (Colin) Robertson, Lindsay Goldthorpe, and Ryan Goldthorpe. She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren that she loved dearly.
