VICKERY – Donna Mae

June 25, 1950 – May 21, 2010

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Donna Vickery on Friday, May 21, 2010, at the age of 59 years.

Donna touched the lives of many with her warm smile, generosity and optimism. She was employed as a nurse at Rockyview General Hospital for thirty-three years before retiring in 2009, to relocate to her dream home in Pincher Creek. Her passion and desire to help people led her to seek employment as a home care nurse in her new community, where she was quickly embraced.

Donna will be forever loved and remembered by her husband Keith and sons and daughter-in-law, Shaun and Adrienne and Ian. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Darlene and Simon deBoer and Brenda and Steve Wegren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry and Karen Tyler, Barry and Maria Tyler, Darren and Tina Tyler, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family, countless friends and her beloved West Highland Terriers, Mac & Dolly.

Forever in our hearts

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

  13. Keith and Family,

I was fortunate to work with Donna on unit 72/83 at the Rockyview for a few years prior to her retirement. Donna was a loving nurse, always helpful and caring to her patients and their families. Her patients loved her…as she loved them. She taught me many things as a ‘new’ nurse, she was always willing to pass on her knowledge and help those nurses who needed guidance, including myself. My heart goes out to all of you as Donna was an amazing person. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

I hope you will find some comfort in knowing that Donna’s Legacy will live on through what she has taught me and many other nurses.
