Lily (Lil) Alice Vickers passed away on Friday, July 18, 2008 at the age of 77 years, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Lil was born in Saskatoon on October 4, 1930. She grew up in Saskatoon and was active in women’s baseball and speed skating. Many a family reunion and church picnic featured her powerful pitching arm. Lil will be sorely missed by all who knew her and shared her laugh.
Lil is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Vickers and Jim Jenkyns; her sons and daughter-in-law, Lance, and Lindsay and Maxine; as well as six grandchildren, Jeff, Jocelyn, Julian, Jeremy, Katie, and Nicholas; and sister Florence Podiluk. Lil was predeceased by both her parents Nicholas and Sophie Senick and brothers, Billy, Tommy, Eddie, and George; as well as her husband Arthur Vickers.
Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, July 24, 2008 at 10:30 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
