Rudolph Johannes Ververda passed away on Monday, January 11, 2010, after a lengthy illness, at the age of 79 years.
Rudy is survived by his companion Jeanny; daughters, Marianne Tait of Okotoks and Bev Mosig of Calgary; and four grandchildren, Rod, Darren, Brian, and Katrina. He is also survived by his brothers, Harry, Piet and Ries; a sister Bets; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife Rita and son-in-law Wolf Mosig.
Rudy was born in Olst, Holland in 1930 and immigrated to Canada in 1953. In 1959 the family moved to Calgary. Rudy and Rita owned and operated Crown Deli in North Hill and Willow Park for many years. He was very involved in the Dutch Canadian Club for several years.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Many thanks to the staff at the Southwood Hospice for their care.
