Vandergucht, George

George Vandergucht of Calgary, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday, December 25, 2008 at the age of 69 years. George was born on August 13, 1939 in Gravelbourg, SK and raised in Assiniboia, SK.  He was an active third-degree member and past Grand Knight of council 8471 of the Knights of Columbus as well as a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters. George is the beloved father of three daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Keith Freney, Janice and D’Arcy Norman and Kary and Tim Ohlhauser all of Calgary. He was the cherished grandfather of Katan, Kirin, Dallas, Jaden, Cameron, Evan, and Sarah and brother of Helen Vandergucht of Assiniboia. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 – 24th Street S.W.) on Monday, January 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. A family Graveside Service will be held at Queen’s Park Cemetery.   Forward condolences through If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200 – 325 Manning Rd.
