December 22, 2013 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ann Vanderburg on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at the age of 83 years at the Bethany Care Center. She will be dearly missed by her husband of 63 years, John, her children, Dianne, Helen (Terry) and John (Rhonda), her grandchildren Kasey Anne (Matt), Bryce (Lindsay), Kennedy, Kiah and Sage and her great grand daughter Kinsley Anne.
Ann was born in Den Haag, Holland and immigrated to Canada in 1952 with her husband to work on a farm near Pincher Creek. She moved to Calgary a few years later to raise her family. Her joy in life was taking care of her family, initially helping her sister, Martina (Tina) Visser with her six young children and later her own children and her parents. She was the youngest of five siblings and was predeceased by her parents Lena and Jan DeHoop, her bothers Dennis and John DeHoop and her sisters Hendrika VanderVeen and Martina Visser.
Her home was always open to visitors and a warm place for family and friends to gather. Ann loved to knit, sew, bake, play cards and travel with John in their motor home.
