October 4, 1941 – March 21, 2011

Anne Marie Van Male-Adrian, beloved wife of Hank Adrian of Okotoks, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2011 at the age of 69 years.

Anne was a beautiful and kind spirit who loved life and enriched the lives of all who knew her. She learned early in life to face adversity in her life as a challenge to succeed. Anne was born in Oakburn, Manitoba to immigrant parents (Emily and Stanley Skavinski). Her parents were very proud when she not only received her education but became a teacher. She continued her education and became a wonderful gardener. Her flowers proved her zest for life. She ran several successful businesses. She was a genius in the kitchen with her creative cooking. Her latest career was with Calgary Transit for twelve years. She loved her job, her fellow employees and her customers.

Besides her loving husband Hank Adrian, she also leaves behind her step-children, sister Mary, as well as many family and friends.

She is now free from pain and is smiling down from heaven above.

  5. Patricia GERELUS :

    Dear Hank,

Even though, we have not met, I am sending my deepest sympathy in the loss of your wife, Anne, my Aunt – I am her sister Mary’s eldest daughter, Pat – Theresa’s Sister.

I would have accompanied Mom and Theresa when they flew to Calgary from Winnipeg, a few weeks ago to join our Brother David and his family…..but I had just returned from my hip replacement in Toronto.

    Sincere Regards,
    Pat Gerelus

  6. Ann befriended us in 1986 when we were playing at the Glenmore Inn and let us stay with them for a few weeks after the month was up. I still remember her teaching us how to properly fold fitted sheets when we’d visit at the laundromat.

Now as I tried to contact her to let her know of Theresa’s passing I find that I’m a few years late in reaching out.

I’ll never forget the time in Calgary and the friendship that lasted in our hearts through all the years. Rest in Peace, as I’m sure your efforts in life have earned that reward.
