VAN HAASTER – Cornelia PJ

March 21, 1914 – August 22, 2009

Cornelia Van Haaster of Calgary passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the age of 95 years. She was a member of the Alberta Handcraft Guild for 42 years.

Cornelia is survived by her sisters, Lillian (David) Dahlam of East Lyme, CT., Anya (Jim) Donaldson of Tavistock, ON., son Benny Van Haaster, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Petrus.

A Family Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Flowers gratefully declined, if friends so desire memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donors choice. We would like to thank all the incredible staff, especially the 4th floor of the Bethany Care Centre.

    Hello Lillian, Anya and Benny,

    I want to condolence you with your loss of your mother, Aunt Corry for me. I was searching on the internet and found the message of her death. She has reached a respectable age. I remember her only from her visit to the Netherlands, I don’t know wich year that was. I remember only that she has films about the children, that was very special for us, because in Holland we had hardly family-films. I hope you and your children and your grandchildren are all in good health.

    I was was searching on the internet because I get a phone call from a (for me unknown) family-member, who wants to make a family-tree of the van Haasters.

    Therefore we need some information:
    All full fornames, date of birth, date of death. Date of marriage, full names en birth of the marriage-partner. The names and birth of the childeren, and grandchildren. I hope you want to cooparate and that it is’t too much for you.

    I don’t know if you have already information about our family. I have information over the van haaster-family since the year 1450. I can send you that if you are interested.

    By the way I am Hans, the third son of Theo van Haaster, the eldest brother of your father, for me uncle Piet. I remember his face still very good. I am 65 years old and have 2 sons Martijn 37 years and and Sjoerd 35 .
    Martijn has a son 9 y. and a girl 7 y. Sjoerd has 2 girls, 6 y and 2 years old.
