August 1, 1952 – January 15, 2013
Robert “Bob” James Lyle Underwood beloved husband of Carley of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the age of 60 years.
Born and raised in Calgary, Bob loved spending time with his family. With nicknames like “Captain Bob”, and “Bad Bob”, he was a caring, non-judgmental, free spirit, who knew how to party. He also demonstrated he could be a quiet, supportive confidante in his role as husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. Bob loved hitting the open road on his motorcycle, and enjoyed always having rock and roll music in the background. Recently, Bob and Carley took a wonderful cruise together, and of course, Bob was adopted as the Captain. Bob lived every moment to the fullest, even through the past couple of years of health challenges. He hasn’t gone away from us, he has gone ahead of us. “Rock on” Bob, rock on, keep the pedal to the metal.
Bob will be dearly missed by his wife of thirty-six years, Carley; his sons, Matthew (Mandie), Kurt (Amy), Michael; his grandchildren, Chance, Riliy, Deztynie, Tyson, Cora, Dustin and Connor; father Lyle; sister Sherri (Henry); brothers Dave and Mike; and many other family and friends. He was predeceased by his mother Shirley, and his brother Rick.
A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at Parkland Community Centre (505 Parkvalley Road S.E.) on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to attend, share stories, pictures, and memories of how Bob’s life touched us all.
