Annie Elgie (Anne) Umbrite, beloved wife of John Umbrite of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the age of 89 years, after a lengthy illness.
Anne was born in Sydney, NS on August 5, 1918. She was married to John Umbrite on August 23, 1943 before they relocated to Alberta in 1945. Anne was an active member of the Daughters of the Nile. She loved nature and especially bird watching. Anne was involved in numerous charities and various groups. She was an awesome mom with a great sense of humour.
Besides her loving husband John, Anne is also survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, George and Sandra of Vernon, BC, and Barry of Vancouver, BC; grandson Michael of Vernon; sister Ellen of Vermont, USA; and numerous nieces and nephews in Ontario and Vermont.
