Ted was devoted to his family and friends, helping in many ways. Ted had a large group of special friends, many no longer with us. Ted retired in 1992 and continued to serve his clients up to his passing.
Ted loved sports, participating in many as a young man and then becoming an enthusiastic fan. Ted donated too many charitable causes and events throughout the years. He had a great concern and compassion for those less fortunate.

  2. I was saddened to read of Ted’s passing in the Herald this morning. He was such a knowledgeable and humble man. I always enjoyed chatting with Ted and Ruth at the many ‘gatherings’ of the old gang at Price Waterhouse. My late husband Brian thought very highly of Ted and Ted helpled him with a lot of corporate and personal tax questions. Ruth please accept my sincerest condolences to you and the thoughts are with you everyday.

    Hugs, Bonnie

  5. Lyle & Gill Pittman :

    Dear Ruth
Gill and I are very sorry to hear about the loss of Ted. For us he was a very special person. He had a significant impact on my early years at HW&A and PW. I worked closely with Ted on several audits but the one I remember most was Farmers & Merchants Trust which was very demanding but Ted always kept us on course. Then there was the personal tax season with the long, long hours but Ted was the first man in and the last to leave.Unfortunately Ted worked too bloody hard. But that was Ted. After my variouus transfers I always sought Ted’s advice on difficult tax matters as it was the best I could get. He was always willing to give me his time and advice even though he had other more pressing matters to deal with.
Unfortunately transfers to other cities resulted in loosing regular personal contact with Ted but I always felt that I could call on Ted for advice on tax or firm matters.
Gil and I know what a difficlt time this is for you and your family. Please know that our thoughts are with you. He will be missed by many.
    Best regards,
    Lyle and Gill

  6. Please accept my deepest sympathies on the passing of a truly remarkable man. I worked at PW for a number of years and strolled into Ted’s office on numerous occasions to pester him with dozens of tax questions. I never once saw him look up an answer – he always had it tucked away in the back of his mind. His clients were so loyal to him and had the greatest respect for him as did I. He was “one of a kind” and I will never forget his kindness or the gleam in his eye when he was pulling my leg.
