Alice Turner passed away in Calgary on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the age of 98 years.
Alice moved to the city at the age of 21 and began working as a housekeeper. Her exceptional cooking lead her to work in the executive dining room of Home Oil, where the president, Mr. Robert Brown, hired her away as a housekeeper for his young family. She worked and traveled with them for many years. She continued to travel with Mrs. Brown even after she had retired at the age of 71. These trips took her away for the winter, which was something she really enjoyed. She met her husband Harry Turner through her brother and a game of cards. She was devoted to her son, family and friends. Alice was the sweetest, kindest, most graceful lady. She will be dearly missed by her two grandchildren, Phil Dais and Pamela Nichol (Craig), two great grandchildren Eamon and Emily Nichol.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Turner, parents, John and Fridareka Dais, her sister Esther Brost, brother Alvin Dais, son Richard Dais, and daughter-in-law Lily Mae Dais (nee Murat). Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
