TROTTIER, Roy Allan

TROTTIER, Roy Allan

October 3, 1956 – January 12, 2012

It is with deep regret and sadness that we announce the passing of Roy Allan Trottier, on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the age of 55 years.

Roy was a born and raised “Calgarian” since October 3, 1956. From a young age, his father and grandfather shared their love of the outdoors with Roy, and he was hooked for life. His love for the wilderness was proven by the stories he told and the animals he hunted. Roy was in his happy place when he was hunting, fishing, camping and surrounded by his friends. His other loves were golfing, curling, riding his quad, motorbikes, eating Chinese food, pizza and kicking up his heels at any opportunity. Roy’s famous impersonations, stories and jokes kept us all in stitches. For over thirty-five years, he worked in the heavy construction equipment field which bore many very special lifelong friendships.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Midge; mother Ruth; sisters Darlene (Rob) and Debbie (Steve); sisters-in-law, Trish (Randy), Sue (Rob) and Joy (Woody); brothers-in-law Pete and Perry; nieces and nephews, Jessica, Danielle, Mariah, Tom, Tiffiny, Alana, Lisa, Cory, Dale, Krisjen, Sara, Kayla and Bryan; and father-in-law Poppers. He was predeceased by father Raymond and mother-in-law Kaye.

A Celebration of Roy’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice. I would like to thank the amazing staff at Rockyview General Hospital for their care, compassion and kindness shown to Roy and I both.

In living memory of Roy Trottier, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek Chapel, 14441 BANNISTER ROAD S.E. Telephone: (403) 256-9575.
