TREVORS, Thomas Kevin

May 1, 1955 – August 23, 2013

Tommy Trevors passed away in Calgary, AB on August 23, 2013 after confronting cancer. He was 58 years old. True to his greatest skill and favorite pastime as a carpenter, Tommy left his mark on the world. He married his high school sweetheart Lorna in 1975, starting a 38 year partnership that would result in three children; Brent (Fran), Jeff and Kelsey (Andrew) and three grandchildren; Jake, Luc and Zack. After raising their children in their hometown of Miramichi, New Brunswick, Tommy and Lorna followed them to Calgary and embraced their role as grandparents to the fullest. Tommy’s grandsons could always count on their Pappy to be in the stands while they played hockey and lacrosse, and the checkerboard was never idle while he was around. Even as Tommy’s body began to strain, he never lost his determination or his Maritime charm. Friends from earlier days were entertained by a familiar sense of humour, and family members were eased by Tommy’s unwavering ability to deliver when it mattered most. Less than one week ago, Tommy gave his only daughter away in marriage. A man you could set your watch to, Tommy left this world the same way he always left the room- quietly after the work was done.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 26th, 2013 at McInnis & Holloway – 5008 Elbow Dr. SW at 2:00pm. Any donations can be forwarded to the Canadian Cancer Foundation.

Condolence Messages

  1. Deborah Sarty & Roger Campeau :

We’ve known Tom for aout 5 years now, as a neighbor and friend. We could always count on his sense of humor. He has been the best neighbor Roger and I have ever had, generous with his time. For example, in the winter, he often shovelled our walk before we had a chance to get to it. He had a level head and a warm heart. We’ll remember the chats we’ve had and the down-east charm he brought to them. He will be missed!!

To the Trevors Family : Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of Tommy. It was a pleasure to meet him during the Wedding events and amazing to see his strength of character . The Bible verse that I read at the Wedding states that Love never fails and that was certainly true in Tommy’s case.
