TRELEAVEN, Joyce Ethel (nee Robinson)

November 10, 1921 – January 20, 2013

Joyce Treleaven, beloved wife of the late Leonard Treleaven, passed away peacefully at the Chinook Care Centre, Calgary on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the age of 91 years.

Joyce was born and raised near Regina, Saskatchewan. She met Len, the love of her life, in high school and they began dating while attending the University of Saskatchewan. Joyce and Len were married in Brockville, Ontario in July 1943 and moved to Calgary after World War II when Len returned from overseas service. A longtime member of the Glencoe Club and Glencoe Golf and Country Club, Joyce was an avid bowler and golfer. Joyce and Len enjoyed nearly 69 years of marriage throughout which they demonstrated their profound love and caring for one another. Together, they travelled extensively and spent many winters in California where they enjoyed golfing with their many friends. Joyce will always be remembered as a caring and loving wife, mother and grandmother. We will miss you dearly Mom.

Joyce was predeceased by Len and is survived by daughters Joan (Doug) Biles, Calgary, Donna (Michael) Crozier, Edmonton, son John (Anne) Treleaven, Calgary and by nine grandchildren, Sandy Twa, Leslie (Robert) Biles, John (Mary Lee) Biles, Barry Crozier, Stacy Rivalin, Kerri (Trevor) Crozier, Bryan (Ashley) Crozier, Shawn Treleaven and Julie Treleaven, as well as five great grandchildren, Abigail, Victoria, Emily, Adelaide and Sophie.

At Joyce’s request, a family celebration of her life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff at Chinook Care Centre for their exceptional assistance and compassion in Mom’s final days.

Condolences may be forwarded through If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
