On Friday January 25, 2013 at the age of 89 years Hugo passed away peacefully in the Santuari Hospice at the Peter Lougheed Centre in Calgary.

He was wounded in action just a few weeks short of the Allied victory in Europe. Upon his discharge from the army he returned to Alberta, and married Ruth, his true love. He maintained a career in the automotive industry, culminating in his partnership in Renfrew Chrysler prior to his retirement at the age of sixty three.
Hugo is survived by two sons; Allan and Gord (Coral); Four grandchildren Tyler and Maya from Robert and Hazel, Brett and Tyler from Gord and Coral; one great grandson, Ayden from Maya and Jerry. Besides his wife Corrine, Hugo was predeceased by his sons Jerry and Robert.
