Judy is survived by her beloved Jane McClellan, her children Jennifer (John Hamming), Jamie and Stephanie Tilston, her mother Nan Dickie (Bill Dickie), her sister Suzanne Devonshire Baker (Glenn Tibbles), her brother Jim Devonshire (Holly Walsh), and her nieces and nephew (Jocelyne Baker, Alexandra Baker, and Mike Devonshire) as well as the light of her life this last ten months, her special birthday present, her grandson, Harry Hamming.

A lifelong Calgary resident, throughout her working life Judy had a number of successful careers, including Chair of the Calgary Public School Board in the mid nineties and, more recently as Director of Finance at the YWCA in Banff. She was predeceased by her father, Mervyn Devonshire, in 1979 and her nephew Anthony Devonshire in 2005.

A private service was held at Christ Church, April 3, 2012. In lieu of flowers, donations in Judy’s name may be made to the ALS Society of Alberta, #250, 4723 1st Street S.W. Calgary, AlbertaT2G 4Y8. The family is extremely grateful for all of society’s support and assistance throughout.

  1. Debby Hooke (Haggart) :

Dear Suzanne & Family. So very sad to read of Judy’s passing in today’s Herald but extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to visit with her those few weeks ago and share some memories of our Elbow Park days. She was blessed to have such a wonderful family to support her all these months and as I discovered in a family photograph during our visit, three beautiful children. The many people that Judy touched throughout her full and interesting life will have all those memories to carry with them and I consider myself fortunate to have some of my own. Regards… Debby Hooke

We were so very sorry to hear of Judy’s passing. I worked with and for Judy when she was a trustee at the CBE. We had many good times together and lots of wonderful memories from the days there. Judy was the lady who held a retirement party for me. Steph, Jamie and Jennifer my thoughts are with you at this time.

I met Judy at an Investors Group training course several years ago. She was such a friendly person. I last talked to her in 2005, when I informed her that I had just completed the 325km ” Golden Triangle” which she had also biked a few years previously.
