TILLER, Norman Whitfield

July 27, 1926 – Lumsden, Bonavista Bay, Newfoundland
August 6, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta

Our beloved father and grandfather, Norm Tiller, passed away peacefully at the South Health Campus surrounded in love by his family on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at the age of 91 years.

Norm was born in Lumsden, Newfoundland, later moving to St. John’s. Married in Windsor in 1956, Norm and Phoebe moved to Montreal, then settled in Calgary in 1967. Norm had a long career in the insurance industry. A proud Newfie, “Stormin’ Norman” was known for his original sense of humour and outgoing nature. He loved his family above all else.

Loving father to Glenn (Collette), Sandy (Craig), and Robin (Rob). Adored granddad to Jared, Carly, Lindsay, Benjamin and Julia. Norm is also survived by his brother Cecil (Newmarket), and family members in Newfoundland and beyond. Norm was predeceased by his wife Phoebe, to whom he was married for 46 years, as well as infant daughter Margaret Jean, granddaughter Lauren and sister Eileen Norman.

Our family would like to express heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Thomas Tam for his many years of compassionate care, and to the warm, professional staff of unit 68 at The South Health Campus.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. 7. Wayne & Bridgette Hamilton :

Glenn, Sandy, Robin and your families,
We were greatly saddened to hear of Uncle Norm’s passing.
I fondly remember recent get-togethers during our Calgary visits, especially stories of Uncle Norm’s time in the Newfoundland Rangers, his memories of people and places in the St. John’s and his desire to know what is happening here now. Unfortunately he will not be able to make his much talked of trip back to visit the people and places he knew in Newfoundland.

Please accept our sincere sympathy and cherish your many happy memories of your dad.
Wayne, Bridgette, Beth, Brent (Donna, Sadie & Blake)
