    Hello Lorraine and Thorne Family,

I was so sorry to hear about your Dad, and will always remember his chuckle, patience and love of the world. My memory is of your Dad always being engaged in the most interesting conversations whilst managing all those kids and being an extremely loving father! I know you feel lucky to have held onto him for this long. I know your Mom will be waiting for him. I feel very fortunate to have had the privilege of knowing both of them.

    Warmly,

  11. My sincere condolences to all members of the “greater Thorne family”. While I have lost contact
over the past few years Len and I had a deep friendship that started many years ago and originated
from a professional / business relationship . Everyone that knew Len admired his ability to give
intense balance to his responsibilities as a parent , a citizen in the community , and as a professional
engineer. He was a great man ! We will miss him !

  12. Sincere condolences to Lorraine, Maureen, Jim, Sheila, Susie, Joanie and extended family. Uncle Len has had a very successful professional life in the oil business and community but his greatest success was his family. He was so proud of the many successes and accomplishments each of you have had in life, along with his grandchildren. He will leave a void in all your lives but he has also left many wonderful memories for you all and these will help you over the near future while you go through the grieving process. Over time these great memories will be one of strength and much, much humor. We know you will all miss him but he is now with Aunt Marg and Lennie. Our heartfelt sympathy over your loss. Aunt Nell, Don and Janice.

  17. Gordon McGuffin and Rob :

I was saddened to learn of Len’s passing. I was pleased to benefit from some of Lens advice during my career with Royalite Oil, and Gulf Canada. I think the benefit was mutual in many ways. I always found him respectful and honest in our dealings.
My son Rob also took training and advice from Len throughout his career, showing that Len’s contributions covered several generations of professionals.
My condolences to his children who have made Len very proud I am sure. God’s Peace to you and may Len Rest In Peace.

  19. Dear Jim, Lorraine, Maureen and family
It is always difficult to lose a parent, even if death is not unexpected – somehow you just cannot believe they are gone. My heart goes out to all of you. We were just at Derek’s fathers funeral last week and can share the pain of losing a loved one who will be so deeply missed. Your parents legacy will live on in the progeny they produced – what a wonderful family.!
    fondly, janet
