THOMSON, Catherine Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Wilson)

July 7, 1931 – February 14, 2013

Betty Thomson passed away in Calgary, AB on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the age of 81 years.

She was born in Edmonton, Alberta on July 7, 1931. After attending the University of Alberta, she spent a year in Europe, studying at the University of Edinburgh, and travelling. It was in Edinburgh that she met her future husband Robert (Bob) – they married in September of 1959 in Edmonton. Bob’s work in the oil and gas industry meant that they moved regularly – spending time in Turner Valley, Rocky Mountain House, Pincher Creek and Estevan, Saskatchewan before settling in Calgary in 1980.

Betty is survived by her son Jim and grandsons Brendan and Connor of Victoria, BC; and her brother Bill of Edmonton, AB. She is predeceased by her daughter Alison and her husband Bob.

Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Betty Thomson, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park Cochrane by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot Chapel, 82 CROWFOOT CIRCLE N.W. CALGARY, AB. Telephone: 1-800-661-1599.
