THOMPSON, Vera

January 9, 1948 – November 5, 2012

Vera Thompson of Calgary passed away, surrounded by her family, on Monday, November 5, 2012 at the age of 64 years.

Vera was born in Northern Ireland and immigrated to Canada in 1972. She worked for Calgary COOP for twenty-five years, retiring in 2006.

Vera is survived by daughter and son-in-law Liz and Kevin Evens; two sisters Roberta Hill and Marguerite Johnston; a brother Harry Johnston and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Harriet Johnston, her husband Richard “Roy” Thompson

A Celebration of Vera’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Vera you were not only my sister-in-law but also my friend, will miss you very much, we laughed together and cried together, I’m so glad that Bob and I made that journey last year, little were we to know it would be the last time that “auntie Vodka” and “granny gin” would be together so I’ll be raising a glass to you and Roy for I know you’ll be happy now that you are both together again.
