THOMPSON, Patricia Ann (nee Reed)

June 30, 1937 – August 18, 2012

Patricia Thompson (Murphy) of Calgary, AB passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the age of 75. She was born in Trail, BC in 1937.

Patricia was the beloved wife of Gordon Thompson who died on May 3, 2012. She is survived by her sisters, Phyllis Barnes and Barbara Daoust, and predeceased by her brother, Jack Reed. Music was an important part of Pat’s life. She was an accomplished pianist, and in her youth, she played French horn for the Calgary Philharmonic. With family and friends, she passed summers on the shores of BC and Alberta lakes and spent many winter days skiing in the Rocky Mountains. Together, she and Gordon enjoyed curling and exercising at Westside. Earlier in her work life, Pat taught skating at several community centers. She then worked at the Calgary Convention Center and later at Calgary Health Services in the Home Care Division. Her intelligent, enduring wit and wonderful laugh will be greatly missed.

Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Patricia’s life, which will be held at McInnis & Holloway’s Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Friday, September 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
