The oldest of three daughters born to John and Isabelle Conn; she left Pioneer Mine BC for the Royal Jubilee Hospital Nursing School; following this with service as a public health nurse in the BC interior and the RCAF. She returned to nursing in the 1970s with the Ottawa Civic Hospital. A much loved sister, mother in law, grandmother, aunt, great aunt and friend; Mae was often a pillar of strength to friends and neighbours who needed one and never shunned a hard duty.
