THOMPSON, Joshua Ross

December 5, 1992 – August 12, 2012

Josh Thompson beloved son of Kari and Darren Thompson and brother to Avari of Calgary, passed away tragically on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the age of 19 years.

Our Sonny Boy was born in Calgary and attended Red Deer Lake School, graduating from Centennial High School in 2010. He loved music and attended any concert he possibly could. His first trip away on his own was to Coachella in California. Josh will be remembered for his wit, intellect, sense of humour and concern for humanity. Everyone loved his crazy hair. He loved camping with his family and friends and loved spending time with his Jagger Boy. Words cannot express how much he will be missed.

Josh is survived by his parents Kari and Darren, his sister Avari, grandparents William and Elisa Brown, Margaret and Duane Thompson, great grandmother Dorothy Brown, his aunt and uncles Lynette (Dan) Javaheri, Brad Thompson, Wayne Brown, Brad Danylchuk, his cousins Ryan and Evan Javaheri as well as numerous other relatives.

He was predeceased by his great grandparents Winifred and Ernest Thompson, Hazel and Harry Healy, Nicholas and Edna Hleucka, Gilbert Brown, and great greatgrandma Annie McNiven.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

  6. Ryan,Lindsay,Carter,and Quin Smith :

I only wish that we would have been able to meet Josh camping with you guys a few weeks ago, I just can’t stop thinking about you guys,it has consumed my every thought for the last few days, and I can only imagine what you all must be feeling and going through. I admire your strength and courage to go through this. He may not be here on earth anymore, but just know that he is watching you and is with you every step of he way for the rest of your lives. He will be forever in your hearts and in spirit with you. When yo have a wired feeling or have thoughts of him that’s because he IS there. There is life after death and just know he isn’t gone forever, you WILL see him again one day. I pray and wish you all the best that I can in a situation like this, but only having met you when we did, we think you are the most lovely, caring family we have ever met, you will make it through this.
    Love The Smith Family…xoxoxoxoxo

    Dear Kari, Darren & Avari

Although you don’t know me, I feel as though I know you through your parents Bill & Elisa..they always spoke so lovingly and with extreme pride of you all…of course…as grandparents their pride and joy was Josh and Avari. They would always tell us of all your adventures…whether it be camping or traveling to exotic destinations or dreams for the future. Your free spirit and sense of adventure was contagious…a kids dream… to have such wonderful parents. As a parent and grandparent, I can only imagine the extreme grief and loss you’re feeling. There is never any love that compare to the love of a parent. May all your precious memories provide you strength today and always.

    Hugs

    Linda Johnson

I can not even find the words to tell you how I feel. I am honoured to have met Josh and all of you and enjoy Christmas and happy memories. We had so much fun. The one thing that makes me think you might get some good feeling is that he had a dream of going to bancok and Kari you filled that for him. You had a wonderful month of togetherness that you will never forget and he won’t either. Wish I could be there for you. I am with you all the way I will be thinking of you all day. Love You all you are not alone xoxoxoxox

I sincerely wanted to express my deepest sympathy to all of you in the tragic loss of your dear, loving son. There really are no words that can take away your grief and sorrow other than to say that you know the hearts, love and support of your family, friends and associates are there to help you live “one day at a time” while you fondly keep Josh’s spirit and memory alive each day in your hearts and mind. The other general statement: “when you truly loved someone, they will never leave you” will be another guiding force to take you forward each day. In deepest sympathy to all.. Betty Parr

    Auntie Kari, and Uncle Darren
I love you guys and Av so much, you guys are my family I loved and still love Josh just as much. It has been almost two years now, but I still grieve. He was like my big brother. I never got the chance to truly give you my condolences and tell you guys how much I love you. You helped raise me. I will always blame myself and feel guilty for the numerous years that went by without me visiting or even saying “Hi.” I wish I could have talked to him before he went, or at least told him how much of a positive influence he was on me. I want you guys to remember if you ever need anyone or anything, I’m just across the street. Happy early 21st Josh, I hope you go to Vegas in Heaven.
    Love Taylor.
