It is with deep respect and sorrow that we announce the passing of Doris May Thompson of Calgary on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at the age of 84 years.
Doris came from a large family of seven and family was very important to her. She was an energetic, independent, welcoming, tenacious and very articulate woman. Doris worked for many years as bookkeeper along side her husband Rex in their garage door business they started in 1967. She was generous in every way and kindly donated her energy, time and resources to many causes. She loved spending time with Valli, Violet, Sue and her friends at the Heritage Senior’s. Doris was known as the “little butterfly” in her condo.
Doris is survived by her son Jeffrey (Peggy) Thompson and her daughter Lori (Jerome) Liboiron. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Bruce (Courtney) and Sara Thompson; and Max and Melissa Liboiron; her great-granddaughter Mila Liboiron and two sisters Betty Albinson of Vancouver and Hazel Davidson of Calgary. Doris was predeceased by her husband Rex Thompson and her grandsons Curtis and Joel Liboiron.
In accordance with Doris’s wishes a private memorial was held and cremation has taken place. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to her favorite charity, Centennial School Drama Department. The family would like to acknowledge the many years of kind and compassionate care given to Doris by Dr. Catherine Heimbach.
