THOMPSON, Delbert Bryce

January 14, 1930 – January 14, 2012

Delbert Bryce Thompson of Calgary, passed away on January 14, 2012 at the age of 82 years.

Bryce, as he is known to family and friends, was born in Provost, Alberta. He received his schooling in Millicent and Didsbury, Alberta. He graduated from the University of Alberta in 1953 with a degree in Pharmacy. Bryce received a Certificate in Hospital Pharmacy from Jefferson Medical College Hospital in Philadelphia, Penn. in 1964. He spent thirty-four and a half years in the Pharmacy Department of the Calgary General Hospital. Bryce enjoyed travelling, having visited six continents. He also enjoyed bridge, cribbage and various forms of theatre, and concerts with his friends.

Bryce is survived by his partner of seventeen years, Jim Clapson, brother Glen (Gwyn), two nieces, two nephews, eight great-nieces and nephew, and three great-great-nephews and niece.

He was predeceased by a brother Osborne in 1943, his father in 1993, and his mother in 2003.

A Celebration of Bryce’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 2:30p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
