    To the Thiessen family:
Our hearts are broken here at TWU with the loss of this kind, talented and cheerful young man. Jordan completed his senior thesis project by doing ecological restoration work on campus, and I have never met a harder-working student. He had a servant’s heart and was a tremendous example to others. You can be so proud of him. We plan to place a memorial at the site where he planted so many trees, in honor of his faithful stewardship.

Our family has walked where you walk now, our heart have been crushed as yours are now, our hope has, and is, where yours will come from…Christ alone! But for now, I weep with you, I grieve for you, I intercede for you. Death was never part of God’s plan for us, and so….we hurt as we are separated from those we have lost. Jordan sounded like such a wonderful young man. I can promise you this…that as you walk this long, painful, dark journey…that you will never be alone, that The Holy Spirit will meet with you like you’ve never known before, that in your lowest moments, underneath WILL be the everlasting arms. I cannot forget you, therefore, I will pray and remember! With all my love, sympathy and care, Lynn (Yurkewich) Collard.

Shirley, Carey, Elise & Chantel, My tears flowed when I heard of Jordan’s passing. So many weep with you and so does your Heavenly Father. The song by Fireflight, “He Weeps”, comes to mind. As you grieve, be assured that you are not alone. He weeps with you.

“Where is God when the rain falls
And takes the car off the road
Is He standing in the storm
Where is God when the child cries
And no one bends to pick her up
Could someone tell me what He does

He weeps, He weeps with you
    He weeps with me
    When I’m on my knees
    And I taste defeat
    He weeps, He weeps

    If today’s your darkest day
And you can’t escape the pain
    Don’t be afraid
    He will never walk away

He weeps, He weeps with you
    He weeps with me
    When you’re on your knees
    And you taste defeat
    He weeps, He weeps

Few people are willing to postpone sleep, studies, or work at any moment in order to hang with people irregardless of how bad the timing was. Jordan was one of those people. Living beside him in Dorm was a pleasure. It didn’t matter when I popped in, I knew I could always count on Jordan to have some fun with and relax after a tough day. Jordan was one of those people that was always fun to be around. He truly valued people and it showed being around him. You did not have to “perform” around him, or do anything “crazy” in order to have fun. Just being was good enough with him.

I will truly miss Jordan and simply being around him…

    Praying for you guys,

  80. Dear Ones,
May our Saviour and Lord be so near at this time. How comforting to know that You will see him again. I remember Jordan as a little fellow in the Toddler Department when First Alliance was on Glenmore Trail. He was a sweet boy and from what I can see a wonderful Godly young man. Keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers. Love in Christ

  81. Sam (Sandra) Penner :

    Shirley,
We never expect that when we are holding our sons close to our hearts that they will leave this world before we do. But we have a great God who holds us close to His heart and we do not grieve as those who have no hope. “When you can’t trace His hand, trust His heart.” May you feel God’s love surround you.
From one mother’s heart to another,
    Sam Penner

We had 23 years with Jordan and thank God for each one of them.
