TETZ, Clifford Gale

December 22, 1932 – September 24, 2012

With sadness and celebration we announce the passing of Dorothy’s husband, our Dad, Grampa, Popa, and Friend. Cliff passed away September 24, 2012 at age 79.

What really defined Cliff was being a Popa and although all Grampa’s are great (because they have the same common foe) Cliff lived vicariously through each one of his grandchildren, all excelled in his presence and nothing gave him more pleasure than to serve their needs with whatever resources he could offer. Cliff had a tremendous love for animals and truly enjoyed his naps with the girls, his dogs Amy and Kirby, that could always be found snuggled up to him in his recliner. Cliff had been battling cancer in recent years and in the past 9 months the cancer had become very aggressive and in late August we knew that time was to grow short and his life would end. We had held out hope that possibly we could find a way to slow the cancer and regain his strength but that was not to be.

Left to mourn his loss and celebrate his life is his wife of 56 years Dorothy; his son Bruce (June); grandchildren, Nick and Raylene; his daughter Gail Smyth (Ken) their children, Brent (Allison), great-grandchildren, Kyler and Mackenzie; granddaughter Roslyne; grandson Mark (Danielle), grandson Jeffry (Erin) and great-granddaughter Caydence. Cliff’s youngest daughter Carol Mammel (Leroy) and their children, Micheal and Kelton.

Cliff was predeceased by his youngest son Keith September 2010 who was ravaged by kidney disease.

Cliff’s memorial service will be held at Royal Canadian Legion #284 (606 38 Avenue N.E., Calgary) on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic or Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund. Thank you to everyone for your concerns, well wishes and sympathies.

In living memory of Cliff Tetz, a tree will be planted at Big Hill Springs Park Cochrane by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH, Telephone: 403-276-2296.

Condolence Messages

  1. Bruce
I never met your Dad, however, I did meet you. I suspect you are a product of your Dad, which is a GREAT. I’m almost 81 [next month] and lost my Kaye 4 years and two months ago. However all my thoughts are very good of Kaye. I tell her I love her and carry on with life. I trust your Mom will do the same thing.

Cheers to her, you and your family.
    Walter
