TENBORG, Thomas “Tom” Wayne

1960 – Dawson Creek, BC
2013 – Calgary, AB

A kind and gentle soul has been taken from us. Tom Tenborg passed away on Friday, May 24, 2013 at the age of 52 years.

Tom, a loving father, friend and adored family member leaves behind a beautiful life. He was born in Dawson Creek, BC and moved to Calgary as a young adult. Tom spent time between Tom’s Lake and Kelowna, his grandparent’s homes, and his new home of Calgary. Tom’s passions included his beloved daughters, Allison (22) and Carrie (18), and of course tending to the beauty of the outdoors. Every flower and every blade of grass hold his loving soul. Tom leaves a lifetime of dedication and hard work to Calgary Co-Op grocers, just short of thirty-eight years.

Tom is survived by his parents, Maurice Tenborg and Trudy Mackie; his three older siblings, Linda, Russell and Laverne; and of course, his little girls, Carrie and Allison. A man who was short on stature and long on laughter will always be remembered.

Funeral Services will be held at Salvation Army – Glenmore Temple (921 – 68 Avenue S.W.) on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. 11. Duncan Ripley :

Tom was by my side as I married the only girl I ever loved. We are still together 30 yrs. later. When I think about how our lives followed different channels, I am reminded that we all have vices, And Tom was no exception. What made Tom Truly Special was his virtues. I admired Tom and to me he remains one of the best friends I ever had.
    Tom, I’ll see you later.
    With love always,
    Duncan

  12. I am saddened to hear of Tom’s recent passing. I worked alongside Tom at Calgary Co-op. I retired about a year ago. I would make sure to see Tom for his smiling face and have a good laff on daily visits to the MacLeod Trail Co-op from the office. His dedication to his tasks and responsibilities at Calgary Co-op were second to none! He was so committed to taking time to ensure all his coworkers and customers were looked after. His speed of stocking, his creative talent for display building and his strong work ethics were admired. I am so sorry for your loss of a FINE man. HUGS!! John Ready

  13. Allison Tenborg :

    Daddy,

A girl’s first and only true love will always be her father, and you certainly were mine. You will always hold a very, very special place in my heart, because I know that you felt the same way about Mum, Carrie and I.

I am incredibly proud to be your daughter and humbled that I was given the chance to share 22 wonderful years with you. I’ll never forget the way your hands tenderly cradled the first new flowers in the spring, or how they held your newborn baby girls. You taught me that to have a friend, is to be a friend. Thanks for being mine.

    Love always,

    Allison
