SYZEK, Gerald (Gerry) Daniel

February 13, 1939 – August 23, 2013

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gerry, husband to Lenore, his loving wife and best friend of 53 years; their love will never die. Gerry also leaves to mourn his children, Teresa (Frank) Kennedy, Michael (Natasha) Syzek, Bruce Syzek, Tracey (Dale) Friesen; his loving grandchildren, Jessica (Aaron), Cole, Cory, Rachel, Quinn, Brandon, Raphaella and Gabriella. Gerry was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Mary Syzek (sister Joyce Miller). Dad spent his last years on the farm where he found peace, comfort and our “John Wayne” was happiest. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

Condolence Messages

  1. Ann Kozlowski :

    Dear Lenore,
I was very sorry to read in today’s Free Press that Gerry has passed away.
It’s so hard to find something comforting to say when you know that almost nothing said can really give you comfort right now. One thing I did eventually think about when Henry died five years ago was that we were lucky to have had as many good years together as we did. I have to admit that did not cheer me up much at the time.
I think back on some of the fun and zany things we did in our younger days and I know the wonderful memories you have of all that you and Gerry shared in your marriage will live with you forever.
I do have some idea of what you are going through right now, Lenore, and my heart truly goes out to you.
    Sincerely,
    Ann

  3. Please accept my sincere condolences to your family. I will always remember as a young boy going out fishing at the crack of dawn with Mr. Syzek out to Marge lake in the Duck Mountains in the little sportpal canoe. Rest in Peace.

  5. Dad, I was just reminicing about your leadership technique of having a cooler of cold beer acting as a foot rest, while watching us boys do work in the backyard. No beer until the work is done.
I wish I could have been there more for you.
Your quote, “I should’ve raised dogs”, is being passed onto the next generation of Syzeks.
“Talk’s cheap it takes money to buy whiskey Pilgrim”, so I will walk the walk, on the path you started me on in life. Miss you Dad.
