Martha, beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2008.
Mom was born in Germany, coming to Canada as a child, arriving in Nova Scotia. As a mining family they moved west residing in many of the coal producing towns in Alberta and British Columbia, settling in Cadomin, AB until moving to Calgary in 1949. Mom lived in the Mountview/Winston Heights area until 1997 when she moved to the Bow Valley Seniors Residence, then the George Boyak Care Centre in 2006. She was a bowler, golfer, volunteer, die-hard Stampeders fan, frequent Wednesday afternoon dancer at the Kirby Centre. Mom was always up on current affairs and taught us to have a positive attitude and to make the best of everything that came our way.
Mom leaves to cherish so many wonderful memories for her daughters Carol (Al) Nelson, Mickey Campbell and son-in-law Mario Liberto; grandchildren Terri Nelson, Lori (Terry) Robertson, Leslie Jacques, Michael (Tracy) Campbell and Cathy Campbell; great-grandchildren, Braeden McGonigle (Raya), Coree-Ann (Mike Watts) McGonigle, Melanie Jacques and Sean Robertson; great-great-granddaughter, Aleksa Watts; sisters, Louise Banning, Dorothy (Elmer) Loehr and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Mike; daughter Myrna Liberto; son-in-law Barry Campbell; long time companion Rudy Brandt; two sisters and a brother.
Auf wiedersehen Mom, we love you, we’ll miss you.
