Supina, Lee

Surrounded by love, Lee Supina passed away after a very courageous struggle with cancer on Thursday, August 2, 2007.

Lee was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on June 11, 1927. Marrying Steve (2003) in 1945, the young couple lived in Fort Smith, NWT for seven years before settling in Calgary in 1955.

Lee’s devotion, dedication and support to her family and friends was infinite. Serving the community selflessly, she had been an avid volunteer within her neighbourhood, her Church, the Bethany Care Centre, and with many other people and organizations. She received the Catholic Women’s League Maple Leaf award for special recognition and in 2006 her fifty year pin. Lee naturally devoted her life to helping others and was an extremely enthusiastic and agreeable person who positively affected the lives of all who came into contact with her. Even during her illness this sweet and amazing lady gave as much as she received from her caregivers if not more.

Taking comfort in their loving memories, she leaves to mourn her children Larry (Mary) Supina, Lynda (Raj Grewal) Young; grandchildren David (Kim), Tracey, Chris, Michael, Warren and Ryan (Lindsay); great-grandchildren Chad, Trevor, Corey, Jordan, Isabel and Megan; great-great-granddaughter Mary Jane; sister Gelina Demers; brothers John (Vicki) Credico, Vic (Frances) Credico; sister-in-law Arlene Supina, life-long best friend Muriel Davis and many other family and friends.

Lee was amazed and so humbly grateful for the loving help, support and care she received from so many people. Special thanks to Mike, Warren, Ryan, Lindsay, Raj, Muriel, Gelina, niece Lori Fraser, Sandi Doucet, palliative team nurses Krystal and Janice and caregivers, especially Iris-Ivy- Amy, Bev-Mimi and Ludy German who “added life to her days”.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (Corner of 4th Street and Northmount Drive N.W.) on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor’s choice. Forward condolences through
