Pearl Marion Sultan beloved wife of Walter of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the age of 85 years.
Pearl was born in Trochu, Alberta and grew up on a farm near Torrington, Alberta. At eighteen, she left the farm, moved to Calgary and later graduated from the secretarial arts program at Mount Royal College. Pearl married Walter in 1951 and they raised two lovely daughters. She worked as a secretary for the Alberta Provincial Government for several years. Pearl enjoyed ballroom dancing earlier in life. She later enjoyed bridge games with friends and fellow seniors. She always had a love for traveling and spending time with her family.
Besides her loving husband Walter, Pearl is survived by her daughters Marilyn (Jack) Klassen and Sharon (Frank) Vandeven; grandchildren, Shannon (Roger), Colleen (Scott), Jeffrey, Tamara (Nathan) and Christine; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Kaden and Ryland; as well as her brothers Elmer and Marvin Ritz. She was predeceased by her parents Matilda and Alfred Ritz.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (703 Heritage Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
