  2. George Hornaday :

I remember Bill well when he was a rookie on the force. He was posted to the Investigation Unit with the Traffic Section of the Calgary City Police.
Bill was a raw rookie at that time and was pretty green. Myself and Al Wylie, we are both retired, helped show Bill the ropes in the Unit. For those who are not familiar, we investigated all Hit & Runs, Serious Injuries and Fatal Traffic Accidents. Well I guess our little bit of training must have been pretty good, as Bill outlasted both of us, as we both retired at 25 and 27 years.
My wife and I attended the 5th Annual Retired Vets Dinner in Yuma, Arizona this past year, and I was surprised to see Bill there, as I had seen him in at least 25 years. We both offer I sympathies to Bill’s family, Bill was a nice guy.

  3. Mike Oleynick :

My sincerest condolences for all the family with this sad news on the loss of Bill. Some of my best patrol memories were from being partnered with Bill in ‘C’ District. He was gifted with the light of humor, and brightened many darker moments around him through his smiles, laughter and uplifting spirit. Bill will always be fondly remembered and truly be missed.
