September 21, 1924 – February 16, 2013
Calgary’s animal population will mourn. It is with deepest heartache we announce the passing of a true, compassionate soul, Mary Stuart (nee Shymanski), beloved sister, aunt, cousin, friend and “patron saint” of animals.
Mary is now free to join her beloved husband Ross, brother Mike and parents Annie and Nick Shymanski. Mary was well known as “The Hat Lady” throughout her life in downtown Calgary, Chinook Centre and the Trinity Lodge. She always sported a stylish hat and “matching earrings”. Mary is survived by her extended family and many friends. Mary will be deeply missed, but never forgotten by all whose lives she touched. Until we meet again, God bless your heart Mary.
A Gathering will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W. Calgary, AB) on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
