October 15, 1950 – Mariglianella, Napoli, Italy
December 1, 2014 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with heavy hearts the family of John Stringile announce his peaceful passing with his loving family surrounding him, after a long courageous battle with leukemia on December 1, 2014 at the age of 64 years.
John is survived by his loving wife of twenty-nine years Bev; son Ryan (Kimberly); daughters, Marie and Amanda; sisters, Marlene (Tony) Lanza, Nicoletta (Andy) Dal Cin; cousin Pasquale (Nancy) Stringile; as well as many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Lategan and his oncology team, as well as the nurses on Unit 38 of Peter Lougheed Hospital.
For John nothing remained more constant or important than family. Sunday was that special day to celebrate family. When his family was younger, Sunday was a full day of eating, drinking, sharing stories and ensuring everyone, all twenty plus relatives, knew just how important they were. As the family grew and time passed, Sundays remained that special day for coffee and catching up. Family celebrations were always something that John looked forward to, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Easter, or Birthdays. John loved his family, all of his family, immediate and extended, and in return they loved him.
John worked for TD Bank for over forty-two years during which time he was not only a boss, co-worker, and financer but human. John put people first. He listened and found the how to, to bring individual and business dreams to life. During John’s time with TD Bank, he created long lasting relationships that often made him the guy that people trusted and turned to for advice.
While working hard, John always made sure that family and friends were kept close. Weekends, Summers and vacation time was spent camping. John loved the beauty of the outdoors, the smell of the campfire and while roasting a hot dog on the fire, the companionship of his family and close friends. Time on the lake was special. At the helm of the boat, John ensured that everyone was having fun.
For John, his face would light up knowing that he was surrounded by the love of family and for all of us looking back at him, we know how much we were loved.
