Clarence Stricker of Calgary passed away peacefully at Intercare, Milrise on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at the age of 79.
Clarence Stricker was born on July 5, 1935 in the Rhein District, Saskatchewan, a son of Fred and Molly Stricker. Clarence was raised on the family farm and received his schooling in the district. As a young man he had several jobs but eventually moved to Calgary in July, 1971. He worked in Calgary as a heavy equipment operator and this remained his home until his passing. Clarence took pride in sharing stories about being an equipment operator and development of Calgary’s ‘famous’ Deerfoot Trail South.
Clarence is survived by five children, Johanna, Molly Ann, Frederick, James and Alex; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother John, two sisters Pauline and Lenora and numerous nieces and nephews. Clarence was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Molly; an infant brother Edwin; an infant sister Pauline; brothers Alex, Dave, Henry, Fred, Jack and Emanuel; sisters Molly, Marie, Adeline and Josephine and Anne.
