In the early morning of Sunday, May 4, 2008, Ella May Straub (nee Rudman) lost her courageous struggle with cancer at the Rosedale Hospice in Calgary. She passed away in the arms of her husband and with her three sons by her side. She was 69 years of age.
Ella will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Pete, of 45 years; three sons, Don (Maritza) of Villahermosa-Mexico, Dale (Ellen) of Dubai-UAE, and Grant (Carolyn) of Calgary; five grand-children, Samantha, Sarah, Katie, Daniel, and Donald and her loyal canine companion ‘Chester’. Also left behind to cherish her memory are her sisters, Kathleen, Barbara (Len) and Karen (Brent); brothers Lorne and Randy, and many nieces, nephews and good friends. She was predeceased by her father Charlie, mother Blanche, two sisters Shirley and Doris, and two brothers Don and Gordon.
Ella – We love you and miss you terribly but know that even now you behold the face of our Father who is in Heaven and are settling into your magnificent new home. Our hope stands on the promises of God’s word that “he who believes has everlasting life (NIV)” and “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him (NIV).”
