I was very shocked and saddened to hear of Pat’s death. We shared 20 years of participation in the annual Municipal Lawyers conference, and each year, both my enjoyment of his company as a friend and my respect for him as a colleague has grown. Pat often talked with delight about how much he loved spending time in Palm Springs, or on vacation sailing in the Caribbean. His enthusiasm for living life to the fullest was infectious. He has been a wonderful colleague and friend and I will miss him a great deal. My deepest sympathies to Pat’s family and all his friends.

    Dear Jane and Jaime:
Pat only touched our lives a few times over the last few years, but his passion for life and his willingness to help our family in an hour of need made Pat stand out as one of the finest gentlemen I have ever met. Pat always spoke with great pride about his family and you could just tell that everything he has accomplished in life was meant to make the world a better place for his family, his business associates and his friends. For Pat to be called to our maker in the prime of his life, due to such tragic circumstances is very difficult for us to deal with. We will miss Pat very, very much. Our deepest condolences to you and everyone in your family.

    My Dearest Jane,
It is with a heavy heart that I send this to you, my good friend. Words seem inadequate to express the sadness I feel about the tragic passing of Pat. I can’t imagine the sadness you and Jamie must feel, but remember what we have once loved and enjoyed we can never lose. I apologize for the late delivery of my condolences, I only just learned of this tragic news. For some moments in life there are no words, however, friendship comes when the silence between two people is comfortable.
My thoughts are with you and Jamie at this difficult time.
